It is quite amazing to contemplate that all our modern dogs are descended from the wolves who, 10,000 years ago, began to mingle with us humans. They were our hunting buddies and our night watch men around the campfire. Their areas of expertise have expanded a lot since then. And under water, we are reminded that man’s best friend once was a ferocious predator. But a few of our four-legged friends manage to retain a civilized appearance even when submerged.
